Fees
Who earns what, on every trade.
01The pool's fee
The pool charges the trader the fee the creator picked at launch — 1% by default. On Ekubo the whole of it accrues to the position; there is no protocol cut taken first. So every figure below is a share of the full fee.
02The split
| who | share | notes |
|---|---|---|
| the creator | 70% | snapshotted onto the launch: changing the default later cannot reach back |
| buybacks | 24% | 80% of the protocol's 30%, sent to the buyback sink |
| operations | 6% | the remaining 20% of the protocol's 30%, sent to the treasury |
On a 1% pool a creator earns 0.7% of every trade's volume, half in the coin and half in the pair asset as the pool sees them.
03Collecting
collect(token) on the fee vault sweeps a coin's accrued fees out of the position and pays
everyone in one go. It is permissionless: anybody can call it for any coin, and the money still
only ever reaches the recorded creator (or their nominated recipient), the buyback sink and the
treasury. A creator should never need the protocol's cooperation to be paid.
A payout that cannot be pushed — a token that refuses the transfer — becomes a claimable balance
rather than reverting the whole collect and stranding everyone else. claim(token) withdraws it.
04Buyback and burn
A creator can route their share into destroying supply instead. On collect, the coin side of their share goes straight to the burn address and the pair-asset side is swapped for more coin through the launch's own pool — the one venue guaranteed to exist for a coin that may be minutes old — and burned too. No slippage floor: a buyback that reverted on price would leave the fees stranded and block every later collect, and the worst case is a bad price on money that was always going to be destroyed.
